Our founders, Van & Kim Nguyen were born in Vietnam. With the threat of war looming in their homeland, they had a choice to make: Stay and live in oppression, or to give their family a life full of opportunity. In 1966, they chose to move to America. Mr. Van left first, and Mrs. Kim and two-year-old daughter joined him soon after. With only $40 in her pocket, Mrs. Kim embarked on a journey to find a new home and a new life in an unfamiliar land.
The family eventually moved to Dallas and began Van Oriental Food in 1986. With a team of dedicated employees, Van and Kim worked hard building their dream.
